After having finished college, Johanna started working for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
She made several cartoons for the companies magazine called de Wolkenridder. Moreover, she made a presentation relating to her work and which was also worldwide spread and used by other airlines for educational purposes. Posters concerning this presentation were made and spread as well.
Johanna then moved to Berlin where she worked for the Dutch Consulate. When she was contacted by the Deutsche Lufthansa AG (Lufthansa German Airlines), she left the consulate to return to the airline business. She did several publications for Lufthansa.
Next to publications for Lufthansa, she was also asked by the Berlin Police Department to make several designs for the Recruting Department. Murals are still to be viewed at the reception area of this Department.
In the year 2000, Johanna returned to The Netherlands.
